Classroom Technology Services (CTS) supports university faculty by providing access to distance learning, AV services and resources including 140 media rich classrooms and portable AV equipment to accommodate instructional needs. When not supporting faculty in the academic classroom, CTS extends its resources and services to the broader university community on a fee basis.

Media Enhanced Classrooms
140 general use classrooms are equipped with instructional technology. Equipment packages range from a full product suite consisting of a data projector, desktop PC w/Internet access, DVD/CDROM/VCR, document camera and sound system to a more basic set-up such as a video/data monitor and VCR. Audiovisual Services
Faculty can schedule multimedia equipment for delivery to the classroom or for pick-up at the AV Services Counter. Individual instruction for any equipment is available by appointment.

Distance Learning Classrooms

Several classrooms are designed to support instructional television (ITV), videoconferencing, and streaming video delivery formats. Distance learning classrooms can be scheduled by contacting: CTS at 974-0405. Find room information/locations at Distance Learning Classrooms

University Mall Theatre (UMT) Classrooms

Four off-campus classrooms are conveniently located at the University Square Mall Theatre complex. These media enhanced classrooms can accommodate large enrollment courses. For information about UMT Classrooms contact 974-2874.

Group orientations for classroom technology or individual sessions by appointment are available for faculty.


Video Streaming 974-0405

In collaboration with Academic Computing, courses can be streamed for either real-time or on-demand delivery over the Internet and Internet2.

Videoconferencing/I2 974-0405
Connect campus and off-campus locations using interactive (two-way) video and audio technology. Portable videoconference units are available for delivery or pick-up at the AV counter.

Instructional Television (ITV) 974-0405
Courses can be delivered using TV style broadcasts to reach students located at any of the USF campuses and designated off-campus locations.

Teleconference (Satellite) 974-2874

Receive conferences and other programs at convenient campus locations. Originate and deliver programs to large audiences located anywhere in the continental U.S.

 

Distance Learning Resources 974-0405

Telecourse licensing, listings in local, state and national distance learning catalogs, and distance learning coordination services provide faculty and departments with connections and information.

 

Audio Production 974-2874

Coordinate, set-up and operate sound systems for a variety of events.
