Description:
The ACT Test measures high school students' educational development and serves as a key indicator of college success. The multiple-choice exam covers mathematics, reading, English and science. An optional writing section evaluates a student's ability to plan and create an essay.
Format and Delivery:
The ACT Test is a paper and pencil test that lasts approximately four and a quarter hours without the essay and five hours with the essay. It is very important to bring plenty of sharpened #2 pencils and you may also bring a calculator, but it can not be a minicomputer, cell phone calculator or pocket organizer. Any calculator malfunctions are the responsibility of the examinee.

Registration Process:
You may register online at the link listed at right, or you may register by standard mail. USF has ACT Registration Bulletins available throughout the year.
Test and Fees:
The registration fee for the ACT without the optional writing portion is $30. The fee with the optional writing portion is $46, however ACT may assess additional charges for late or standby registration, additional scores or any other irregularities. All payments need to be made through the ACT.
Retest Policies:
Students may retake the ACT Test as often as it is offered. Admissions applications need only reflect the highest scores from each of the sub-tests.
