Important Message

for Students in Web-Based Classes!

Students taking online courses need a USFCard photo ID in order to access most online courses.  With a USFCard photo ID, students can activate their NetID, which allows students to access the USF Web Portal, where most courses can be found.  To find out more about the USF Web Portal, called myUSF, please see:

Step 1

To obtain a USFCard without coming to campus.  Please see http://www.auxsvc.usf.edu/usfcard.asp for  information and an application form.  This requires a passport style photo, usually available where 24 hour photo processing is done; cost is $10.00.  See the website for complete directions, services and application form.  USFCards are also available on campus.  Call 813-974-2357 for campus information.

Step 2

To activate your NetID once you have the USFCard ID number, go to https://my.usf.edu

Start the process early so your web-based course is available to you for use at the beginning of the semester.

myUSF

The University Web Portal, myUSF, is a consolidated collection of online services provided via the web exclusively for USF faculty, staff and students. Because it is for USF students, faculty and staff only, a secure identifier –the USF NetID--is required for accessing these online services.

Students are automatically assigned a USF NetID upon registration for classes; faculty and staff may select their USF NetID from an available list at the University

Once your USF NetID is activated, it will allow access to my.usf.edu, e-mail, account management and other University services that require secure authentication.

Please note that a USFCard ID is required for USF NetID activation.  The USFCard Center has developed an online application procedure at:

It is crucial that individuals use a USF NetID as the University increases the number of services that are offered online.  As the portal develops, more University services will be incorporated into my.usf.edu.
