USF Online Faculty Evaluation Process

Online Faculty Evaluation
The Office of Assessment, Decision Support is responsible for reporting course evaluation results, whether submitted as paper copies or online. The evaluations themselves are administered by the colleges and campuses. Representatives in each college and on each campus (listed below) receive the results. If you have questions about the process or for help, please contact your department representative (listed below).

Currently, only reported web-based classes (75% or more of instruction is online) participate in the on-line evaluation process.

USF Online Faculty Evaluation Process:

Alert your students to the online evaluation opportunity

Let your students know that they will be able to evaluate your course during the last three weeks of the semester through OASIS Call your department representative if the site is not up or you have problems accessing the site.  If your class does not show a W in OASIS (indicating a web-based class), your students will not have access to the site.

Directions for using the online evaluation process

Provide the following directions to your students so that they can participate in the online evaluation of instructors:

    1. Type http://www.usf.edu in the address bar of your Internet Web browser.
    2. On the lower left side of the screen, click on OASIS.
    3. In the section labeled Secured Access; select the link labeled Student Assessment of Instruction.
(This link is available only during the last three weeks of the spring and fall semesters and at certain times during summer sessions).
    4. Read the directions.
    5. Enter your USF-ID number and OASIS PIN number in the appropriate boxes.
    6. Click the 'Submit' button.
    7. Click on the course to be evaluated.
    8. Respond to all eight questions.
(Comments may be entered into the comments box).
    9. When finished, click the 'Submit' button.
(After an evaluation form has been submitted, you are no longer able to access it again, so please check it carefully before submitting.)
    10. Repeat steps 7 through 9 until all courses have been evaluated.
    11. Exit the Student Assessment of Instruction page and OASIS.

Interpreting your student evaluations

If you would like help with interpreting your student evaluations, contact the Center for 21 st Century Teaching Excellence at 974-2576 for an appointment.
Enrolling your course in the online evaluation process
Each department should report online classes for coding in Banner at the same time space requests are made at the beginning of each semester (refer to the registrar’s scheduling timeline). Department staff should contact Marie Boyette at mboyette@admin.usf.edu or 813-974-0405 with the course reference number, name, course prefix, number and section number. This coding enables the course to be included in the online evaluation process.  Currently, only reported web-based classes (75% or more of instruction is online) participate in the on-line evaluation process.
