World Wide Web
Courses are offered online via the World Wide Web; an active e-mail
account and Internet access is required. Most web based courses
are accessed through BlackBoard at
my.usf.edu and OASIS may
list a website and other information. Contact the department or
instructor for course details, to determine if any face-to-face
meetings are required, and for information about specific
hardware or software needs. |

ITV
Instructional television courses originate in specially designed
classrooms and are received at other USF campuses (and sometimes
at specific off-campus locations) at the same time or on a
tape-delayed basis. This format allows two-way audio, one-way
video communication between originating and receiving sites. |

Telecourse
Telecourses are broadcast on WUSF-TV and the Education Channel
(for Bright House cable subscribers in Hillsborough County),
DVDs or VHS tapes may be rented for the semester or purchased,
and many telecourses are available as video-on-demand using the
Internet. Telecourses typically use a web component (BlackBoard
at my.usf.edu) for
syllabus and other instructional content; an active e-mail
account and Internet access is required. A few face-to-face
meetings on campus are required for some telecourses; contact
the department offering the course for additional information. Please
refer to the telecourse listings in the catalog and contact the
department offering the course for additional information. Most
telecourses meet Liberal Arts General Education Requirements;
please contact your advisor to confirm your academic program
needs. |

Videoconference
Videoconferencing is an interactive process that allows students
and faculty to see and hear each other at multiple locations in
“real-time.” Locations include all four USF campuses and
selected community sites. |

times in campus media centers. Videotapes are also available as
rentals and from other sources such as public libraries. Contact
the department or instructor for course details, and to
determine if any face-to-face meetings are required. |

for scheduled listening times in campus media centers. Tape
